Dr. Kumar Krishen

Dr. Kumar Krishen has supported space exploration from January 1965 and was with NASA in various capacities from February 1976 to September 2018.

Dr. Krishen has served as Innovation Champion and ST/ Chief Technologist for NASA Johnson Space Center (JSC) and represented JSC as the Principal Technologist on the NASA Council on Science and Technology. Dr. Krishen served at Virginia Tech as University Fellow for Technology Transfer, Office of Special Initiatives, and Visiting Professor on a special NASA assignment. He has also served as Adjunct Professor at Rice University.

Authoring more than 170 technical papers/reports/proceedings, Dr. Krishen is a Fellow of the Society for Design and Process Science (SDPS), Fellow and Distinguished Speaker of the Institution of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineers (IETE), and an Assoc. Fellow of the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA). Dr. Krishen’s academic degrees are from Kansas State University (Ph.D. and M.S.-Phi Kappa Phi, Eta Kappa Nu & Sigma Xi honors), Calcutta University (M. Tech and B. Tech- Gold & Silver Medals), and Jammu and Kashmir University (B.A.- Highest Univ. Merit) in electronics, electrical engineering, radio physics, physics, and mathematics.

Dr. Krishen received the NASA Exceptional Service Medal in September 2018 recognizing his exceptional and sustained service to NASA and the United States in the realm of technological advancements in support of Human Spaceflight.

Prof S. N. Singh obtained his M. Tech. and Ph. D. in Electrical Engineering from Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur, in 1989 and 1995. Presently, Prof Singh is Director, Atal Bihari Bajpayee- Indian Institute of Information Technology and Management Gwalior (MP), India (on leave from Professor (HAG), Department of Electrical Engineering, Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur, India). Before joining IIT Kanpur as Associate Professor, Dr Singh worked with UP State Electricity Board as Assistant Engineer from 1988 to 1996, with Roorkee University (now IIT Roorkee) as Assistant Professor from 1996 to 2000 and with Asian Institute of Technology, Bangkok, Thailand as Assistant Professor from 2001 to 2002.

He was ViceChancellor of Madan Mohan Malviya University of Technology Gorakhpur during April 2017 to July 2020. Dr Singh received several awards including Young Engineer Award 2000 of Indian National Academy of Engineering (INAE), Khosla Research Award of IIT Roorkee, and Young Engineer Award of CBIP New Delhi (India), 1996. Prof Singh is receipt of Humboldt Fellowship of Germany (2005, 2007) and Ottomonsted Fellowship of Denmark (2009-10).

Prof Singh became first Asian to receive 2013 IEEE Educational Activity Board Meritorious Achievement Award in Continuing Education. He is also recipients of INAE Outstanding Teacher Award 2016 and IEEE R10 region (Asia-Pacific) Outstanding Volunteer Award 2016. Dr Singh is appointed as IEEE Distinguish Lecturer of Power & Energy Society from 2019 and Industry application Society for 2019-2021. He is also recipient of NPSC 2020 Academic Excellence Award and 2021 IEEE Industry Application Society (IAS) Outstanding Educator/ Mentor Award. His research interests include power system restructuring, FACTS, power system optimization & control, security analysis, wind power, etc.

Prof Singh has published more than 550 papers (h-index=60, Citation=14k+) in International/ national journals/conferences and supervised 42 PhD (9 PhD under progress). He has also written 33 book chapters, 13 Edited books and 2 text-books one on Electric Power Generation, Transmission and Distribution and second is Basic Electrical Engineering, published by PHI, India. Prof Singh has completed three dozen of technical projects in India and abroad. His two NPTEL (YouTube) video lectures on HVDC Transmission and Power System Operation & Control are very popular. Prof Singh was Chairman, IEEE UP Section for 2013 & 2014, IEEE R10 (Asia-Pacific) Conference & Technical Seminar Coordinator 2015-18 and R10 Vice-Chair, Technical Activities (2019-2020). Dr Singh is Fellows of IEEE (USA), IET (UK), INAE, IE(I), AAIA, AIIA, IETE, AvH.

Mr. Puneet Kumar Mishra

Puneet Kumar Mishra earned his M.Tech (RF & Microwave) from IIT Roorkee in the year 2004. Since 2004 he is with U R Rao Satellite Centre, Bangalore. He has rich experience of RF characterization of 51 Satellites, 350+ antennas and radomes. . He has indigenously developed C-Band, Ku-Band and Ka-Band Compact range feeds to meet various requirements of ISRO’s satellite program.

He has played a pivotal role in establishing satellite level EMC facility and Asia’s largest Magnetic Field Measurement Facility. He has conceived and conceptualized World’s first compact range with 10 m quiet zone going to be commissioned in 2025. Presently, he is Heading Satellite Antenna Characterization, Test & Design Section of U R Rao Satellite Centre, ISRO, India. He has Received IETE-IRSI Young Scientist Awards (2012), ISRO Young Scientist Award (2013), ASI-ISRO Space Gold Medal (2014), GE Foundation Award for Academic Excellence and Leadership (2002-2004), IEEE MGA Achievement Award (2017) and 8 best paper awards.

He is a passionate Volunteer and served Bangalore Section at various capacities including Chair 2020 and India Council as Vice Chair and Secretary. Presently he is serving as BoG of Global IEEE AESS, Vice Chair(Technical Activities), India Council, Chair, IEEE AESS Bangalore Chapter and Member of Global Committees of IEEE Industry Engagement and APS.

Dr. Jai Govind Singh

Dr. Jai Govind Singh received his Ph.D. (2008), M. Tech. (2003) and B.E. (2001) degrees from IIT Kanpur, IIT Roorkee, and MNNIT Allahabad, respectively, all in Electrical Power Engineering. Dr. Singh joined the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT) in December 2009 and currently working as an Associate Professor and Head of the Department of Energy and Climate Change, SERD, AIT Thailand. Before joining AIT Bangkok, he worked as a Postdoctoral research associate (2008-2009) at the Royal Institute of Technology (KTH), Stockholm, Sweden, followed by the University of Queensland, Brisbane, Australia, as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow in 2009.

His teaching and research interests include power system planning, operation, and control; Smart Grid and Microgrid; Electric vehicles and battery storage; deregulation; solar and wind integration; power distribution system planning.

Dr. Singh has supervised 7 doctoral (another 9 are ongoing) and 74 master graduates besides being involved as a committee member of more than 180 other master/doctoral thesis work completed in the last 15 years. He has published more than 131 articles in different international journals (52), book chapters (5) in international conference proceedings (68), including IEEE, Elsevier, IET, John Wiley & Sons Ltd, and Taylor & Francis, etc. He has been involved in research/development projects (20) sponsored by international donors/agencies. Further, he has successfully organized an international conference, ICUE2018, apart from technical members of several other conferences. He has regularly been invited and participated in international conferences and training programs as keynote (20) and expert (30+) speakers. He is also a senior member of the IEEE Power and Energy Systems and, Fellow of The Institution of Engineers (India). Dr. Dipti K. Sarmah

Dr. Dipti K. Sarmah serves as a Docent in the Department of Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, and Computer Science (EEMCS) at the University of Twente, The Netherlands. During her doctoral studies, she focused on the development of a high-capacity and robust image steganography method, utilizing nature-inspired optimization techniques.

Her research interests are not only limited to the field of steganography, and cryptography, and its applications but also the study and analysis of human behaviour for Cyber security. Additionally, she has professional experience as a Microsoft patent analyst, specializing in prior art searches, infringement analysis, and validity/invalidity analysis.

Apart from her research endeavors, Dipti is passionate about teaching. She holds a University Teaching Qualification Diploma from the University of Twente, reflecting her commitment to delivering effective instruction. Her key achievements include demonstrating research excellence, ensuring teaching effectiveness, fostering student well-being through mentorship, and contributing to the academic community.

Dipti has a productive publication record, with over 25 research papers published in reputable journals and presented at prestigious conferences in which a few have been published in the Journal of Information Security and Applications, Information Sciences, Journal of Cyber Security Technology, and Taylor & Francis. Her latest research has been accepted in the Journal of Computers & Security, Elsevier. She is also the author of a book published in the Intelligent Systems Reference Library, Springer. Furthermore, she has supervised more than 35 research projects since joining the University of Twente, illustrating her dedication to nurturing the next generation of researchers.
