Virtualization and Linux Operating Systems Summary

REPORT OF THE EVENT

The APACHE society of Computer Science and Engineering Department has successfully organized a workshop on “Virtualization and Linux Operating Systems” from 12th May 2023 to 13th May 2023.

Objectives of Workshop:

• The main objective of this workshop is to make aspiring engineers acquainted with the conceptual and practical knowledge of the Linux Operating System.

• To enable students to implement their innovative ideas in their projects using Virtualization.

• To enhance the confidence of the students in the field of ‘Linux Operating Systems and Virtualization’.

Venue:Computer Lab-1

Time: 9:00 AM to 4:30 PM

Contents:

    Day-1 (12 May, 2023)

        (i) Introduction of Virtualization

        (ii) Installation of VMWARE

        (iii) Installation of RedHat

        (iv) Working with Multiple operating Systems

    Day-2 (13 May, 2023)

        (i) Commands like cd, mkdir, cp, mv, pwd, who etc

        (ii) Telnet Configuration

        (iii) Ftp Configuration

        (iv) User management and Permissions

Outcomes:

    • Students have got basic theoretical and practical knowledge of virtualization.

    • Students have learnt about the use of Linux Operating System Environment in their projects.
